A tough topic to cover in a romance book but overall a book that gripped me enough to finish it in a day. Teddy and Xander were very different personalities but I liked the slow build up of their relationship and how it was vastly different for both of them. Grief played a key part in this book and it was interesting to see how that held them back, but also how it influenced their dynamic and how it ultimately showed that you could love even while grieving. The way family was shown was nice as well, Dalton, Penny and even little Bea felt like a genuine family with little personalities and I liked seeing Xander bond with them and take some of the weight.

At times, the writing style wasn't for me as it ended up feeling a touch repetitive. Particularly in the use of certain words (e.g. silver and the descriptions of Teddy's body) and once you notice that, it's hard to unnotice it. It resulted in the story feeling a bit stuck at points.

Overall, I enjoyed the characters and the idea of the story and the ending was super sweet.
