Wonderful and interesting memoir! It definitely touched me in ways I didn't expect as I feel like my life and upbringing is so far removed from the authors, but I guess in the end, if we listen we can all relate to eachother in some ways.
The discussion of religion and religious texts was so seamlessly woven into the story and I really, really liked how the exploration of the Qur'an stories linked to the growth the author went through! Kinda made me wanna go back to religious texts myself and I've never had anything to do with Islam. I can imagine that this book means even more to people who can more strongly relate to these kinda aspects.
I found it a very interesting exploration of healing, growing, and finding a place to belong. The end seemed a bit cheesy and nearly flat but it's hard to judge the author for that, I only wish her the best and she highlighted how she found good things.
