Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

5.0

Eleanor is thirty years old and is alone, actually, she has always been alone. She didn’t receive the love that every child needs right from birth. She never complained about it and just moved on. Living alone since her childhood, she did not interact much with others and also did not have any friends. So she is a bit socially awkward but you know about society, they think she is mad and strange. And she doesn’t care what people think or talk about her.

She doesn’t have any goal in her life and her everyday routine is the same. But one day, she meets her coworker and things change. She becomes more confident and bold after that very day. She makes new friends and learns to share feelings with others.

With completing each chapter, she gets transformed. And this will make you smile, laugh and cry too. I loved her. It is one of the most beautiful, intense and well-written novels. It will always stay with me and I will definitely read it again.

One thing I loved about Eleanor is she did not care about what people talked about her. And yes, everyone including me should be like her. Most of the times what people say about me doesn’t affect me but there are some moments when I can’t bear them. And I just really want to be like her. Most importantly, people should mind their own business instead of interfaring into life of others.
