I’m still processing my feelings about this book, but Haruki Murakami’s writing (or at least the translation) is very well written!

Even for people for whom the story does not resonate, the writing is unique. It’s easy and flows very well, which makes it a quick read, despite the difficult subject matter.

What I also liked is that although things are happening, it’s all very level. It’s a consistent read with some heavy punches.. but it allows for time to process throughout the book itself. Much like the protagonist is processing his own feelings about this time in his life.

It’s interesting to me that I bought this book on a whim shortly after my sister died. And now, some years later, I’m reading it, again on a whim.
It’s funny how life works out like that sometimes.
