The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

5.0

Not a perfect book by any means and I felt that Holly Black could have done some things better. Also, it was too short and a few added pages could have benefited this book.

There many questions still left answered (I remembered HB did say that we would probably be left with more questions after the book ) but I also kind of excuse it because this book is told in 1st person and in real life, you cannot really expect to know all that happens in the background. Still, I would have loved some revelations one way or another.

Also to that people that said Cardan and Jude were out of character, I see where they're coming from but I disagree (at least regarding Cardan's character). If you remember the last few chapters of The Wicked King, Cardan was already soft towards Jude. My theory is that he's probably liked her since the beginning of The Cruel Prince or at least after the tournament. Jude's perspective of Cardan is just understandably twisted considering she was bullied at first and we are reading in her POV. One thing I would say though is that I had wished Jude fought more with Cardan about her exile.

Overall, this book is still a 5 star read for me. This series already cemented itself to have a special place in my heart and I hope to see at least a cameo of Cardan and Jude in Holly Black's future story.

Two extra things:
(1)The fact that Cardan's letters to Jude isn't in the regular copies of The Queen of Nothing is a crime :(
(2) I ship The Ghost x Taryn
