[@tyndalehouse #partner] January seemed like the perfect month to read through @dukeslee latest book on my favorite topic - control.

As someone who is driven, ambitious, and a bit of a control freak, It’s All Under Control was both affirming and challenging. Lee walks us through the problems we encounter when we demand life happen on our own terms and try to control the outcome of every decision - and what can be different when we recognize who God is, what He is really asking us to do, and how to let go of things we are NOT asked to do.

I’ve read so many books that tell me to work less, take a back seat, and just enjoy the ride. That is NOT who I am. I am driver who feels alive when I’m making things happen and helping others move towards their goals. It felt affirming to realize the talents and strengths God gave me can be tools for loving others well. But they can also lead me to major burn out, if I try to do it ALL. The chapters helped me evaluate my priorities, realize where I’m overcommitting because I’m afraid others won’t get it right, and let go of things I’m not called to do.

So if you’re also a control freak looking for a good book to read, I recommend this one. 😉 Have you read this? What did you think?

Thank you @tyndalehouse for the free book!
