The Drowning Woman by Robyn Harding

dark emotional mysterious reflective tense fast-paced

5.0

5⭐️ This was such an engrossing story with short quick paced chapters that made you say ‘okay, one more…and one more’ once the plot really picked up, I had to finish in one sitting!

The story is split into four parts so you really get into the head of each woman. Lee is on the run, homeless and just scraping by, Hazel is locked in an abusive marriage. Their paths cross and form an unlikely friendship. Both are hiding secrets from each other but I was rooting for their freedom, add a little deception, betrayal and murder.

It was a bit over the top but combining the stories of the two women really worked, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and I quite enjoyed the resolution. A solid suspense!
