this book was entertaining, but not the greatest thing i’ve ever read. i had a couple things i liked and a couple things i didn’t

first off, the main character. she really annoyed me until, like, the last part of the book. she had great character development, but my goodness was she annoying at first. for me, the worst part was the way that her thoughts and feelings kept bouncing back and fourth every single chapter. man i was just hoping she’d settle on something at some point.
one moment she was in love with jude. then she wasn’t. then she was thinking about calvin again. then she loved jude. then she stopped and thought, “why am i in love with my captor?” then she hated jude. then loved calvin. then jude. LIKE I UNDERSTAND YOUR COLD JUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND 😭

secondly, i am not the biggest fan of the “i’m in love with my captor” trope. i know jude wasn’t a bad guy, but he also wasn’t innocent. and all this shit happened in four days, and they’re already in love. maybe it’s just not for me

i have to say i enjoyed jude as a character. he was one of the people i could tolerate. wasn’t a fan at first, but now he’s probably my favourite

spoilers
i hate calvin. he’s a weird creepy freak who had so many red flags from the start, i don’t know HOW britt wanted him back. also it was a bit predictable. i knew calvin had something to do with it from pretty early on.

one part of the book i really enjoyed was actually the prologue of the book. it was creepy and immediately got me hooked. i just wished the rest of the book had that same feeling. more thriller/horror vibes

however, i did love the setting of the book. the snowy mountain really reminded me of the horror video game “Until Dawn,” which i love

overall the book wasn’t awful, and i’d recommend to anyone who wants to read an easy, quick adventure/thriller-ish book
