This book brought up really complex feelings for me. There are parts that I LOVED, mainly the main character. Sally’s neurodivergence sits front and center the entire book and she is such a lovely character, you are rooting for her the whole time. HOWEVER, this is an insanely dark book. The depictions of abuse are so intense, it verges on trauma p*rn and despite this book being a dark story about moving past our traumas, the ending is rushed and gives a horror vibe? I get it doesn’t have to be a happy ending, but this was ridiculously dramatic.
