As with Caitlin’s first book Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, I could not put down From Here to Eternity. The book is well-organized, well-researched, lovely illustrations, and full of her trademark dark humor.
I have to thank this author for breaking the taboo of death. She unabashedly talks about death rituals and how we’ve shunned ours in America. Thus, removing a powerful grief process that can be healing and beautiful. Furthermore, she conveys this message by showcasing other cultures attitudes and rituals when it comes to their loved ones passing. It’s utterly fascinating.
I appreciate her passion to educate the public on the funeral industry and how we can advocate for other ways to go into eternity. Caitlin is one-of-a-kind and I am officially a fan girl.
