If you want to read Destructive Yearning: The Book, read this.
It was slow-paced for the first half, but by the second half, I couldn't put it down. The author captured obsessive love so beautifully and in a way that felt genuine. He does get quite descriptive with the prose, which slowed down the pace, but I actually really liked it. The description helped it feel more real, and it matched the overall theme/atmosphere well.
But the obsession. Dear god, the obsession and the yearning and the exploration of just how far someone will go for the sake of desire. If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, read this fucking book. It was amazing.
