The Temporary Roomie
by Sarah Adams
I love Sarah Adams, so much that I suffered through this book that would have been a quick DNF from any other author.
I have so many issues with this one, which is really disappointing since I’ve enjoyed most of her others.
Jessie is just terrible. She’s rude, insensitive, and you’d think she was 12. The “i’m mean to you because I secretly like you” bit is not cute in middle school, and it’s not cute from two grown adults. Pranks? Sure. Publicly humiliating someone as a “prank”? Not funny.
I kept reading with hope that the book would get better- that Jessie would have a redemption arc and mature. It doesn’t happen. It pains me to say this about one of my favorite author’s books… but I regret the time I spent reading that. I need to re-read Practice Makes Perfect now.
