Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
4.25

I loved this book! This book was a wild ride from your standard Victorian era orphan neglect and abuse to gothic, spooky, semi-supernatural themes, and then back to moralistic Christian pedantry, with a swing into sweeping romance, and I was having a blast.

Obviously, there was a whole heap of problematic stuff in this book, but ultimately, it was very fun to read a story about a woman from this time period who had an iron clad sense of self and really did not let the bastards grind her down.
