What a great sequel to the first book! I am a sucker for a good historical fiction book and with some romance? Yay! Plus I love the representation here and the usage of Spanish words and phrases.
It took me a bit to get into the book only because I had quite forgotten what happened in the first book since it’s been over a year since I read it. Once I went back and read a quick synopsis of it, the pieces fell together. I love the Luna sisters and how hard they try to navigate the Ton while still maintaining true to their roots.
While the romance doesn’t take center stage in this book, I still enjoyed it. It’s a bit of an enemies to lovers story and I enjoyed the banter between Isabel and Sirius. Things get a bit spicy and I rate it 2 🌶️ out of 5.
I do think the ending was left kind of too open for me, I know there’s a third book coming and I hope it ties everything up with a nice bow.
