Honestly has some quite cute depictions of healthy teenage relationships (except Gill bc he’s racist as hell), especially Manny and Iris, who had such an impeccable development of their relationship. The conflict between them was solved so easily with some beautiful healthy communication that I didn’t expect after the whole “boys tease girls when they like them” comment by Draculaura. Very cute actually. Straight people this is the standard!

Cleo and Deuce are also actually really healthy and sweet together and I came to really enjoy their relationship as well. You can really tell they care about each other, even despite the pressure and lack of acceptance for their relationship by Cleo’s family. And her just being able to wind down and have such a cute indoor date with Deuce where he cooked for her was adorable, and their part in the story definitely deconstructed Cleo’s portrayed materialistic and cocky traits, and that behind that she’s just a normal girl who cares for her friends and Deuce along with herself, and comes to be a really admirable character.

The other relationships and overall plot didn’t really stick with me—Heath is very misogynistic, Billy’s one of the guys who just “doesn’t get girls”, and although Clawde is perfect and does no wrong, him and Draculaura have some clear trust issues. Draculaura’s consistent worries about if Clawde loves her, even though he really does, is definitely concerning for their relationship.
