Oh this book was good <3 Not quite Rebecca, but almost. I loved the feel of it, the mystery the intrigue. I loved the characters. I loved the story. Oh I just loved it. Though, the end I was a little confused by. It was all jumbled. But it was an amazing book.
I really loved the build up, there was everything that makes a good book. It was a beautiful piece of Gothic literature. I love du Maurier's writing, I like how it paces, how it slows right down and then it all happens at once. It kept me guessing throughout.
I think words have failed me now, it was just utterly stunning. If you like Jane Eyre - or at least the feel of Jane Eyre - you'll like it. If you liked Rebecca, you'll like it. If you liked Wuthering Heights - you'll like it. It has everything you want in a book, atmospherics, good characters... It was stunning <3
