Among the Mad by Jacqueline Winspear

4.0

I hope at sometime that Maisie’s assistant Billy gets a break; it seems with every new book that something else in his life goes wrong.
This book follows the aftermath of war theme still, this time in regards to shell shock. Both the disregard and lack of sympathy that was prevalent and the work that was being done to prove its validity and the damage it caused.
I thought the author did a fantastic job of portraying both frames of mind and the often disastrous aftermath of World War One.
