This is so beautifully and simply written. I adore the writing style and I want to read many books by the author. I love how she describes relationships and interactions and mundane situations in a way that makes it clear that she just gets it, she knows exactly what it's like to be alive and be human (some authors don't seem to know how people actually interact and Elizabeth Strout is the opposite). I enjoyed the story and the chatacters and I liked learning more about them, finding out about Catherine and about David. Still, I didn't always connect to the characters as much as I had hoped, but it was a great book regardless.
