I'm Glad My Mom Died
by Jennette McCurdy
dark
reflective
sad
fast-paced
It's hard to rate this book, truthfully. Cause rating this book means that I have to rate the obvious trauma that Jennette McCurdy went through and has shared with us.
It was a masterpiece of a book. There were moments where I felt sick to my stomach for her, knowing that she went through this and just processing this all. I feel disgusting going back and watching any form of iCarly content now, knowing what she went through and knowing what she was forced to do to please her mother and the creator.
One phrase that kept being repeated in my head throughout this was: 'They used you Nette! They used you!' I think that sums up what she went through.
I am grateful she has found the courage to share her story with us all after all these years. I hope that she receives the peace and comfort that she deserves after everything.
