Slaying the Shadow Prince by Helen Scheuerer

5.0

This book did not let me down, from the instant tension and knife to the throat scene it had me hooked.

I loved seeing a younger Wilder and how much different he is in this book compared to him in Blood & Steel.

We got to see so much and learn more about one of the destroyed kingdoms and how it’s not all as it seems.

Both the fmc and mmc are deadly with rage in their bones, although Tal is a golden retriever at heart. I was hoping for a little more tension than what we got but it was still so good!

Whilst being a romantasy there was a lot of plot and fighting as well, there were some moments where they felt a bit too rushed.

The family dynamics, both blood and not, were so good. Especially Talemir and Wilder’s brotherly bond.

I am so glad I read this between the 2nd and 3rd books in the legend of Thezmarr series cause this really adds more depth and emotion to it.
