An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn

medium-paced

2.5

The whole Cinderella-type story kind of annoyed me at first, but it ended up being pretty cute. I am just glad there was no trying on of the slippers or anything. But a glove w a monogram on it? I will accept it. This one has been my favorite (which I still do not ~love~ any of them) of the Bridgerton series so far. It is probably mainly because I already really liked Benedict's character in the show. He is honestly less likable in the book, especially regarding the issue of consent. I hate how he relentlessly pursues Sophie, even after she has declined. I understand that it is supposed to be romantic because of how much he loves and her blah blah. But still. She said no. I hope they handle that better, if Benedict ends up with a season in the show. I did looooove when he breaks her out of jail, though. Good work, son.
