This was a gripping and emotionally grounded read that surprised me in all the right ways. From the opening chapter, Cash’s revenge-driven mission draws you straight in, but what really makes the story shine is the emotional nuance beneath the grit. Jordyn is a brilliant match – witty, layered and instantly likeable. Their chemistry develops slowly and naturally, avoiding overused tropes while still delivering on tension and payoff.

The family dynamics, particularly between the brothers, were a standout. It was refreshing to see male characters who are emotionally open without it ever feeling forced. The mystery thread is introduced early and, while somewhat predictable, remains engaging throughout.

The third-act conflict gave me pause (as it often does in romance), but it worked here – it felt honest and true to the characters. The reunion was quiet, grounded and far more powerful than any dramatic gesture would have been. Emotionally intense, but never tipping into melodrama.
