Sleep Like a Baby by Charlaine Harris

2.0

I love the series on Hallmark and yes, it's hokey as hell but for 2 hours it's a nice distraction. And yes, I'm team Martin all the way!

So, having watched the TV movies, I was like, ok, I'll read one of the books in the series, what's the worst that could happen? Well...first, I quickly switched off the TV movie out of my head and read this completely separate. In book format, Aurora Teagarden is annoying. The bland and unnecessary passages were rampant throughout the book. And how many times did we need to read about her breastfeeding her daughter. It felt like every other page she was either breastfeeding, thinking about breastfeeding, making jokes about breastfeeding, or talking about breastfeeding. How did she manage to find out who the killer was between all the breastfeeding????

The ending was rather anti-climatic and the killer was just oh-hum. I gave it two stars as it was a quick and easy read and there was a cozy murder for Aurora to solve. Think I'll stick to the movies.
