I loved the characters, their development, and the story, but the writing fell a little flat for me in some places. The character building relied heavily on exposition, especially at the beginning, which made it feel like a Info dump. i would have loved to get to know the characters more organically - by exploring their actions, thoughts and feelings. Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of overexplaining, the opposite of "show don't tell."

That said, I still loved the story, and the book kept me engaged enough to continue with the next one. I hope the writing will get a bit more nuanced
