This is such a beautiful story that mixes paranormal & fantasy elements with magic, and showcases Māori language, culture, customs. It is a romance and it has high high heat (🔥🔥🔥🔥). I loved A Wolf in the Garden from Allegra Hall, and I cannot wait to see what comes next (dragon!!!).

The premise of the Unravelling adds such an interesting layer: the Unravelling revealed monsters and their hidden realm to the world. As in some people who lived their whole lives as humans woke up one morning as an orc or found out they had point fae ears.  👀

Here’s what we get:
🌸Dual POV
🌸Second-chance romance
🌸Paranormal and humans mixed in today’s world
🌸Forced Proximity
🌸Alpha shifter
🌸MINE!
🌸Knotting
🌸Healing from grief
🌸Discovering self
🌸Cozy romance
🌸HIGH high high heat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
🌸No 3rd act breakup

There is family (found and blood), shifter and were politics, witches, magic, unknown danger. This all takes place on a beautiful setting in New Zealand, and the entire book feels  like a love letter to the people and land of Aotearoa.

I recommend this if you love shifters and werewolves and fae and fairy and the like. If you want a love story between two lovely souls. If you want lots of spice and open door scenes but also lots of tender and cozy moments.

Thank you to Allegra Hall for the ARC opportunity. My thoughts/opinions are my own and my review is voluntary.
