The Tomboy and the Captain is Book 1 in The Final Score series by Ginger Scott and it was so good. If you like enemies to lovers, he falls first, close proximity, strong heroine, hockey and volleyball, college sports romance then you will love this book.

Laney is a senior on the Tiff U volleyball team who is on a mission to make the new pro women’s volleyball team.
Cutter McCreary is the captain of the Tiff U hockey team, sexy, lovable, and every girl wants him.

Cutter and Laney don’t get along and are housed in the same room. So instead of flipping a coin to see who gets the room Cutter makes a bet that whichever one of them falls in love first loses the room.

Ginger wrote these characters so well. Laney and Cutter went from hating each other, to friends, to having an emotional connection, to falling in love. The banter between them was great. I loved the side characters as much as the main characters. Laney’s best friend Ivy was funny. Ivy’s brother was the funny annoying brother. I love that Cutter had a great relationship with his mom and brothers. I especially love the names she gave her characters Cutter and Lainey. I want to thank Ginger Scott and Wordsmith Publicity for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions, I love this story.
