It was a good read but nothing extremely eye-catching or super memorable. I enjoyed the characters, especially a specific shapeshifting crow who becomes a constant companion for Miuko. However, while the overall plot was enjoyable, I found the ending somewhat rushed. There was a bit of whiplash when the second half of the novel begins and a twist is introduced and several times, I found myself lost from the many character names and monster descriptions that I didn't bother tracking back to remember who they were.
But even so, it was a fun read. I look forward to other novels written by this author.
