"When you can’t beat the odds, change the game."
Wow, just wow. 5 stars is not enough, I need some time to recover.
Between the 6 points of view, with their different thoughts and interpretations and their traumatic pasts, this book is so well written. And, just like Six of Crows, there isn’t a dull moment. Every chapter is thrilling, there are multiple twists and, of course, a very clever plot. It made me happy, sad, confused, angry and I loved every single second of it.
In this universe loyalty is viewed as a currency, but love, friendship and family isn’t. And, not to sound like a cliche but, what comes out of those things? A type of loyalty that no money can buy. They are undeniably loyal to each other and, although some won’t say it out loud *cough* Kaz *cough*, they deeply care about each other.
The romance side plots were one of my favorite parts. They were realistic, they never took over the plot and, at the same time, they were very important.
I will miss these characters.
