A Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft

4.0

This was a pretty great read. Wollstonecraft is passionate and logical at the same time. It's very urgent writing but extremely well thought out, and really worth the read in my opinion, as many aspects of her perspective are definitely still relevant. It is also really cool though to see how some of the things she wished for in the future came true. Very satisfying and makes me emotional and proud of the progress we've made.

That being said, the writing is pretty dated in a way where it's easily readable, but boring to read. Even when the tone is exciting the language kinda makes it a drag, although I also think that's on me and some people might not find that. But at some moments it felt like homework to finish. (again, not a criticism of her just a heads up for people thinking of reading it). I also feel like a slacker for reading the abridged version, although I found it actually found it kind of repetitive already so the abridged version may have been the way to go.

I seem to be reading a lot of feminist stuff recently?
