The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis
4.0

Am sure I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in elementary school, but don't really recall. Got the whole set at Costco one day and finally started in with this prequel.

Was a good little adventure story. Not sure how many prequels I've read, but think they're normally afterthoughts and not necessary. However, I think this one was a good story on its own and from the little I remember of the LW&W it was fun to read and recognize things that will pop up later.

The descriptions of the worlds was well done, and how everything worked were quite well thought out to the small details. Was sometimes I thought not necessary to have the narrator point out the connections to the other books, or hint at them, but it's a style I guess. Possibly it's the same style as the others, I guess I will see. But overall a fun journey to new worlds, including your typical friends, enemies, those to be determined. Not only fun journey itself, but great intro to Narnia.
