Honestly a pretty disappointing read for me. I enjoy horror and slasher films, so I thought this would be a fun take on that and it was at times but not enough. I like Hendrix’s perspective on slasher films and the exploitation of violence to women, I’m just not sure this particular story was the best way to explore that commentary. It simultaneously came off as trying too hard and  not trying hard enough. Additionally, I didn’t love Lynnette as a protagonist and her character development at the end felt rushed and disingenuous to who she was before, especially considering the fact that most of her anxieties came true and no one believed her until the end.

Overall, the author and I both wanted this book to be more than it was. I could see the intention, but it failed in the execution.
