Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire

4.0

I always admire authors who are such succinct storytellers. Whenever I write or talk, it is a barrage of information and thoughts. But Seanan McGuire does a wonderful job telling about such a fantastical and massive fiction world in such few pages. Every morsel of information was intriguing, every character was thought out.

Such a lovely look at the darker side of life, because while the idea of many worlds leads to many imaginations I think that the representation of the dark things in life is so important to the way the story is told. Not only do the children in this story experience the basic human emotions that would go along with the experiences they have, but they have a larger more understanding perspective of the realities of the world.

Love love loved the end, even though I will miss Nancy greatly as a character.
