I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!
Someone call Shonda Rhimes because we’ve got another TV show that needs to be made!!!!!!
Hades and Persephone were so beautifully captured, Persephone learning and growing to be the bad ass bitch she is!!! Her not conforming to traditions from young and continuing that perfectly!!! Persephone encapsulates sooo many young girls who want the world and more but always belittled, put down and withheld by so many forces of parental love thats domineering, misogyny and more, but her overcoming those obstacles and demanding what she wants and willing to take it??? BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Now Hades!!!! I’m sorry I am in love with this Hades, a soft puppy like man whose artistic?? What’s not to love!!! I also love the fact Hades had his own story and struggles but was also willingly to understand why he also played parts into the patriarchy and how he benefited from it at times as well as loses a lot of himself because of it!! Also Hades is Black!!!! A strong tall dark and handsome MMC SIGN ME UP!!!!!
My favourite people besides Persephone and Hades were 100% Styx and Tempest FREAKING LOVED THEM!!!!!!! Hermes is aight if you can possibly look past him being a dick…..
1 critic I do have this book is that some times it felt like the book had filler pages and chapters in that could’ve gone without but overall not that fussed!!!
We also need to have moments with Cerberus more!!!
Overall, this book was a brilliant first debut and gorgeously written, so funny and yet so thought provoking, had me shouting at the book say fuck them up!! Or crying in laughter and sadness at what Persephone and Hades and everyone that isn’t Zeus has to go through!!! It’s a brilliant book that deserves the hype and more!!!
