The Sea Witch: A Little Mermaid Retelling
by Rebecca F. Kenney
I was completely enthralled with this re-telling. The characters are great and there's such awesome chemistry between the FMC and MMC.
The only reason I knocked this down from 4 stars is the pacing during the last 30% of the book. Once the major conflict is resolved, the FMC and MMC hook up. A LOT. I recognize that this is a spicy book, and the spice was GIVING, but prior to the climax (Ha, pun intended), the spice scenes were sprinkled throughout with significant plot points in between. The end of the book is practically back to back to back spice to the point that it wasn't novel or fresh anymore. But I'm also a reader who prefers a ratio of more plot to spice, so other readers may enjoy that aspect.
