Love and Other Perils: A Regency Novella Duet by Grace Burrowes, Emily Larkin

5.0

Probably 5 Stars but I'll reassess when I read Grace Burrowes' novella.

Lieutenant Mayhew’s Catastrophe By Emily Larkin
5 Stars.

I loved this from the pun in the title to the HEA. Lieutenant William "Will" Mayhew and Wilhelmina "Willie" Culpepper (yes the similarity in names comes up) travel from London to Southampton with two kittens. In only 18 hours a lot happens: a storm, a sprained ankle, mud (lots of it), a talkative farmer, a taciturn farmer, a scaredy horse, a big horse, a love that's meant to be, and a few more cats.

I liked Mayhew in [b:Lady Isabella's Ogre|36507490|Lady Isabella's Ogre|Emily Larkin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1509427280l/36507490._SY75_.jpg|58226750] and it was nice to see him and his kittens Bellyrub and Scout get their HEAs.

Tags- Military: both MCs have a military background Mayhew serves in the Rifle Brigade and Willie traveled with her colonel father all over the world and yearns to go back to the adventurous military life; Locations: London to various parts of Hampshire (Winchester, Abbot's Barton, Headbourne Worthy, Winnall, Twyford, etc.)

Catnip and Kisses by Grace Burrowes
4 Stars
Two nerds find love and two cats find a home. Bread scientist and youngest son of an Earl Max and wannabe librarian and heiress Lady Antonia meet over books and cats.

Quote I liked: He struck her as a book with its pages bound in the wrong order.
