The Cat Prince & Other Poems by Michael Pedersen

emotional funny hopeful lighthearted reflective sad fast-paced
This unstoppably energetic book of poetry is a joy to read, you cant help but be charmed by Pedersen’s infectious enthusiasm for words and the world around him. The poems look at childhood in all its strangeness, particularly focussing on what it is to be a boy and how you might become a man.

Readers familiar with Pedersen’s book Boy Friends won’t be surprised to also find poems of friendship and grief, examining big losses like the death of a close friend, and the small bereavements of day to day life - nostalgia, brief connections, passing moments.

It’s a playful an accessible collection of poetry everyone will enjoy.
