Trash. written by a nerdy man for other nerdy men. Extremely misogynistic and racist. Takes place in two timelines: one during WW2 and the other in the 90’s. The only Black characters are nameless and described as n***os (this is apparently ok since it happens in the WW2 timeline…. but apparently there are no Black people in the 90’s). The women in the novel are all sexual interests of a main character (who are all men) and either virgins or they sleep around/are unfaithful. They almost exclusively serve the purpose of breeding and exist for no other reason. The three most significant women have something horrible happen to them. 

The narration also sucked, non-english names and words were often mispronounced and any character with a southern accent sounded like an unintelligent caricature. 

1 star for the interesting delves into technology.
