I’m diving straight into this book review! You’ll need to read the first book in this duet first. This installment gives you about 50% of the original story but from Malachai’s perspective—which I really enjoyed, especially getting to see his unhinged side. Once again, the audiobook features a full cast and is fantastic if you’re thinking of picking it up.
This duet is wild, featuring a morally gray character who would do anything for the FMC. Expect unhinged, “touch her and die” vibes, with plenty of death and gore. I loved that the MMC is also mute, and although they’re foster siblings (not related by blood), I really enjoyed the opposites-attract dynamic between them. Their relationship is definitely obsessive and toxic, but it was still an engaging read.
This book includes many dark themes and content, so be mindful going in. Even though I list some below, I may still miss a few.
