Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Ibram X. Kendi, Jason Reynolds

5.0

(4.5/5) Reynolds perfectly formatted this book for their teenage audience exemplified by how incredibly well written and easy--in terms of the timeline--to follow this book is. As stated multiple times within the novel, this book is not the end-all and be-all of learning about racism and I think it sets the stage really well for further reading and research. I personally am now very interested in now reading Kendi's original book Stamped from the Beginning to get a more detailed account of the contents of this novel. I am very, very grateful that our Theatre for Social Change teacher had us read this book. However, it should be required reading in US History as, up until this point, all I knew about racism in America was "there was slavery and now everything is so much better but not perfect, ok let's move on..."
