Three Women by Lisa Taddeo

5.0

It boggles my mind that this book is consistently rated 1 star by people, but something like My Dark Vanessa regularly gets rated 5 stars. (I rated them both 5 stars).

Real life is ugly and gritty and uncomfortable, and if you don't like it, why buy it?

My biggest thought is that this book would be better received if it was marketed as fiction, or if it wasn't marketed as a book about women's desires, despite the fact that it WAS a book about three women's desires (just not ENTIRELY sexual desires).

ANYWAY 5 stars. Writing on point. Life stories on point. Lina made me want to slam my face against the wall so she was written well enough for me to say "girl just go to therapy" fifty times. I finished this last week and I still wake up every morning saying "f*** Aaron" and throwing my heart out to Maggie so I'd say the book achieved what it set out to do.
