Without Merit

4.5 Without Merit Stars
Ok I am going to be completely honest…. I had to read this book 2 times to really enjoy it.
The first time around I was waiting for something to happen, anything really but it just didn’t and I don’t know if it was expectations or what but I didn’t know how I felt when I was finished.
So I read it again, without all the expectations. An then I really enjoyed it as it was meant to be I believe.
Merit is an odd duck, and I loved that she made me think and then think some more. She doesn’t come across as your typical depressed teenager and I think that’s what kind of threw me off the first time I read this book.
I also related a little bit with her, her mother has severe agora phobia as does mine. And I felt for what she was feeling about that. It’s not easy to tell people how you feel if they don’t have to deal with something like that.
I liked how odd a lot of things were in this book, maybe it was too many but if you think about your own life think about how many odd things happen or go on around you.
I loved the statue of Jesus in there Livingroom and how she would dress him. I wished we got to hear more of that, because the 2 that she did do were genius!
So over all I enjoyed the book, and I am glad I reread it to really get the full affect. Loved the narration, because hello it was fabulous.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
