This sequel is set three years after the end of the first book, and because of this it takes the first third of the book to explain the events that have happened since the previous book to properly set up the challenge and premise for this book. Unfortunately, that also makes the beginning extremely slow and boring. It does pick up once the story moves beyond all of this, but damn, it took a long time to get there. This sequel also doesn’t have all the fun 80s/90s nostalgia of the first book, since all the good stuff already got used up. It was still a fun read with a good ending, but will probably only be enjoyable for big fans of the first book.
