Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith
3.0

Things I liked:
The actual murder/mystery
The continuing relationship between Robin and Strike

Things I didn’t like:
This is the second book in a row where serial killer men dress as women to lure victims. We all know by now that JK Rowling has serious issues with trans people and homophobia. This book had far too many jabs and homophobic slurs to have allowed a publisher to print it.
What’s with the incessant fat shaming? There was absolutely no point to make so many references to morbidly obese or overweight standby characters—a couple enjoying pizza, a woman holiday shopping, a woman descending the stairs at the BnB, etc.
There’s one Indian character and he looks exactly like Gandhi, which seems kind of racist when a white woman known to have issues with racism in her other books writes it.

At over 900 pages, I found a lot that really irked me and I wish that the ongoing series of one of my favorite detective teams wasn’t being written by a racist, homophobic, fat shaming mega-author that publishers don’t want to turn down.
