The Dawn Warrior by Ginny O.
Did not finish book.
And another one I did abandon early on, so I won't rate it.
It has some promising things - like a dragon companion, magic early on, a strong female character and some action!
But sadly the prose was awkward and in the 50 pages or so I read there where quite some things that didn't make much sense. An example of this:
"hair fell over her shoulder and hit the ground" shortly after "unpinned the braid around her head, holding it" -> how can it be pinned up and falling over her shoulder at the same time?
And a bit later I had to wonder why wouldn't it grow while pinned? -> "Despite being pinned to her head and the ends tucked away, her hair had grown another six inches during the night."
So while this one definitely has potential, it definitely needs an editor to become good.
