Heist with Michael Caine by Michael Caine

5.0

Having screen legend Michael Caine narrate a podcast about real-life heists is as good an idea as it sounds. The combination of narrator and subject is good fun in this six-part series. It will appeal to anyone who is still mentally a 12 year-old boy. Caine's cockney accent is a great fit for the series.

The first episode, which revisits a 2003 Antwerp diamond heist, focuses on the tricks the thieves used to defeat infrared sensors, magnetic sensors, and 6-foot-thick steel doors. This is then followed by another five other stories. Which I found myself binging. All sound as though they've come straight from a movie. Taken as a whole Heist reminds us, nonfiction is better, because these are human stories. They have real loot, real masterminds, and real consequences.
