I really enjoyed Devraj and Isadora in this story and how they contrasted but complemented each other. The underlying mystery/kidnapping plot kept the book interesting and gave it a plot outside of the main characters relationship.
It was nice to see Isadora develop and become more confident in herself without suddenly transforming into an extrovert. She was clever and kind but also felt real, she had flaws, she was mistrustful of those outside her immediate circle (and couldn't drive). It was lovely to see inside the workings of her mind and watch her become more comfortable and push herself a bit. I liked her as a character.
Devraj was charming and interesting and had more layers than first assumed. His backstory was really interesting and it was revealed to us at a good pace and in a way that furthered the story and developed Isadora's understanding of him and his life. I liked how besotted he was with Isadora even when he hadn't quite realised that he liked her that much.
I feel like through the mystery plots, especially this one we are seeing more hints towards Jules and Rubens relationship and past and it intrigues me to find out more. This particular mystery/kidnapping plot gave more insight into the world they live in and the morals, standards and rules that apply there which was interesting.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
