Water for Drowning by Ray Cluley

5.0

I originally heard about this story on the This is Horror podcast and thought it sounded intriguing. What a great story. Very original. Very well written. Sure, the protagonist (Josh) isn't the most likeable guy but you can't help but feel a certain amount of sympathy for him during the story. That probably has a lot to do with the writing style, the way Josh seems to be telling his story directly to the reader. It reminded me of the first-person narrative of "High Fidelity", one of my favourite stories. I would definitely recommend reading this story. Go out and get it!
