Accidentally on Purpose by Kristen Kish
4.0
informative medium-paced

As a Top Chef fan, this was a really fun memoir to listen to. Kristen doesn’t seem nearly old enough to have a memoir already, but there were so many things I learned about her by listening to this book. I thoroughly enjoyed that she was the narrator, especially times when you could hear the emotion in her voice. It made the entire storytelling process so special. The overall organization of the book wasn’t great - there were times where it would jump 5 years ahead and then back a year. Still, I’m not sure of the overall timeline for the personal events in her life, but maybe that was intended. It just made it a little more challenging to follow. I loved the life lessons that came in this book and how she really emphasized and called out her mentors and friends that helped her along the way. It was classy of her to not name names when it came to the more challenging and difficult experiences, even though I’m sure that temptation was there. The book was a relatively quick read and I think it’s an excellent read for fans of Top Chef, fans of Kristen, and aspiring chefs and foodies in general. 4⭐️
