While I really like the idea of this story and the inspiration it took from the frame narrative (which I think was very clever), I didn't particularly enjoy the reading experience of this one. This story is largely driven by subject matter which is personally triggering for me at times (sexual violence) so I didn't have the best experience with it.
I also found the story to be quite slow & repetitive (which I understood more after finishing the book and understanding the author's purpose of this story) but that didn't make for the most enjoyable thriller book reading experience.
I know this book was very personal and meaningful to the author so I do still hope you pick it up and give it a chance if it sounds interesting to you!
