I feel like the ending of this manga fell short of what I expected. There were many plot points left unresolved as the pacing was quickened in order to get to Vinland faster and that shows in the final volume. I seriously believe that Yukimura thought he would get more volumes because even in the last few chapters he was introducing new plot points that he would not follow up on. While it was nice to see that Yukimura worked with a tribe on his depiction of the natives, I still feel a little strange about how they were depicted in the story and think their plotline could have been given more creedence towards the end. I also think we are missing some of the conversations about violence that Yukimura intended to have once in Vinland. Despite this, I did overall enjoy this series and liked the conclusion we got to Hild's plotline though it did feel a bit forced towards the end. I just wish we could have gotten a bit more of everything to really wrap up the broad story Yukimura established.
